The answers, before the call

Nothing changes on your end until the day we switch. Your current site stays live and keeps taking calls the entire time we build. We rebuild it on a private staging link, you review it, and when you approve it we point your domain at the new one.

The cutover itself is a DNS change. It takes minutes, and it happens at a time you pick rather than in the middle of your Tuesday. Once the new site is answering, you cancel the builder subscription. The same process applies to Squarespace, GoDaddy, Weebly, and anything else with a monthly plan attached to it.

This is the right thing to worry about and it is the part most rebuilds get wrong. We keep your page addresses the same wherever we can. Where we cannot, we set a permanent redirect from the old address to the new one, which is how you tell a search engine to move the ranking rather than drop it.

Your titles, descriptions, and page content are carried over before launch, not reconstructed afterward. Beyond that, sites usually come out of a rebuild faster and better structured than they went in, and both of those are ranking factors. We will not promise you a position, because nobody honest can.

You keep it. It stays registered in your name, in an account you control. If it is currently locked inside a website builder we will walk you through moving it out, or leave it where it sits and simply repoint it at the new site.

Strick Tech never takes ownership of a client domain.

No. Email runs on different records than your website does. We change the records that point at the site and leave your mail records exactly where they are. If your email is currently bundled with your builder plan, tell us before we start and we will move it somewhere it can live on its own first.

No, and usually you should not. Shopify is a genuinely good checkout, and most stores that come to us keep it for cart and payments while replacing everything around it. You get a custom storefront and keep the machinery that already works.

If you would rather move the entire store off Shopify, we can do that too. We will tell you which of the two is actually cheaper for your volume before you decide.

A typical small business site is two to four weeks from the day the scope is signed. Anything larger gets a delivery date written into the scope before you sign it, not estimated after work is underway.

Your photos, your list of services, your pricing if you publish it, and access to your domain. Roughly an hour of your time up front and a review pass at the end. If writing the copy is the thing standing in your way, we write it and you approve it.

Yes, completely, and not as a promise for later. You get a zip file of the entire source on day one, and a fresh one at every release after that. There is no builder account you have to keep paying for and nothing of ours you have to license.

This is the single biggest difference between a custom site and a builder. On Wix, you are renting a site that cannot leave the platform. Here, the thing you paid for sits on your own hard drive.

You leave with the zip file and your domain, and you owe nothing past the term you are in. Because the site is written in standard, widely used code rather than a private system of ours, any competent developer can pick it up and put it back online. If you hire one, we will hand off to them directly.

We host it, and it is included in the monthly plan. There is no separate hosting bill, no server for you to manage, and no renewal notice to forget. Sites run on Vercel or Netlify depending on the build.

If you ever want to take hosting in house, the zip file is all you need. We will help you move it.

React, on one of two stacks. Either Next.js deployed to Vercel, or Astro deployed to Netlify. Which one you get depends on what the site has to do, and we will tell you which we picked and why.

Where a project needs more than pages, we reach for pieces that are equally standard: Supabase for accounts and data, Mux for video, Stripe for payments. All of it is off the shelf and widely used. None of it is proprietary to Strick Tech.

Two reasons, and both of them are about you rather than us. The first is speed: these stacks serve a finished page almost immediately instead of assembling one in the visitor's browser, which is why builder sites feel slow on a phone in a parking lot.

The second is leverage. Every tool on that list has thousands of developers who already know it. You are never one argument away from a site nobody else can touch.

No. The design is done for your business and then written by hand. No two of our sites look alike, because no two of them start from the same file. If you have seen five businesses in your town with the same site in different colors, that is the thing we are built to avoid.

Text and photo changes are part of the monthly plan. You send them over and they go up, usually the same day. Most owners find that faster than logging into a builder and fighting a drag and drop editor at nine at night.

If you would rather edit pages yourself, we can wire up an editor for that. Say so before the scope is written so it is priced in from the start.

Yes. Contact forms and quote requests are standard. For scheduling we will connect the booking tool you already use and pay for, or set one up if you do not have one. Online payments run through Stripe.

It is designed for the phone first, because that is where most of your customers will see it. Every page is tested on real devices before launch, not just resized in a browser window.

Through Stripe, by card or bank transfer, on the same day each month, automatically. You get a receipt every time and can see every charge you have ever been billed. No invoices to chase and no surprise drafts.

Retainers run month to month after a three month minimum, and you can cancel at the end of any term. No annual lock-in, no cancellation penalty. The three months exist so a new site gets past its settling-in period, not to trap you.

No, and we would rather be blunt about that now than vague about it later. If you need a site or an application built first, that build is scoped and quoted in writing before any work starts. The monthly plan begins the day it goes live.

We scope it and quote it before we do it, so there is never a line on an invoice you did not agree to. If it turns out to be something you want regularly, we fold it into the monthly number instead of billing it every single time.

Website builders run roughly 35 to 200 dollars a month for the plan itself, and that is before apps, themes, and add-ons, which is where the bill quietly grows. Our lowest plan is 100 dollars a month with hosting included.

What the money buys is different, though. You get a site written for your business rather than a template, and a person who answers when something breaks on a Saturday. Add up what you actually pay today, add-ons included, before you compare the two.

We will say so on the first call rather than sell you something that will not help. It costs us thirty minutes and saves you a year of paying for the wrong thing.

The engineer who builds it. There is no account manager in the middle relaying your feedback to somebody you never meet, and no offshore team you find out about later.
